How to Extend Screen
Extend Screen feature is designed to turn your mobile device (such as a smartphone or tablet) or another computer into a "second monitor" for your main PC, truly expanding your desktop workspace. To help you understand it better, think of this feature as adding an extension leaf to your desktop, It is ideal for multitasking.
It is also used for split-screen productivity—such as writing a document on one side while researching materials on the other, comparing design assets, or viewing walkthroughs mid-game. It will effectively increase your desktop real estate.
When you are on a business trip with only a slim laptop. When you arrive at a client's site, you need to present a PowerPoint slideshow while simultaneously checking your speaker notes. Constantly toggling back and forth on a single screen can be awkward and unprofessional.
In this scenario, simply take out your iPad or Android tablet and run AnyViewer to connect to your laptop. You can then display the PPT presentation on your laptop screen for the client to see, while using the tablet screen to view your speech notes or reply to messages discreetly.
Preparation
Before extending your screen to the target device, please ensure the following conditions are met:
Please ensure that the AnyViewer is properly installed and running on both the local device and the target device.
Please log in to both devices using the same AnyViewer account (no need to initiate a remote connection in advance).
We strongly recommend updating the software on both devices to the latest version for the best experience.
The screen extension feature requires a Pro or higher account level to use.
Operation Steps
Step 1. Select the target device
Open the software interface on your host device and click Device-My Devices. Find the target device you want to use as a secondary screen and Click Screen Mirroring in the left-side navigation bar.
Step 2. Start extended mode
Select the Extend Screen option and confirm.
The host interface will display a prompt saying: "Mirror or extend this device's screen to the virtual machine."
Step 3. Drag and drop freely
Once the extension is successful, the target device's screen will instantly become a wireless extended monitor for your host. You can freely drag windows or documents from your host directly onto the target screen, just like using a traditional physical dual-monitor setup.
Note:
Devices currently using screen extension cannot actively initiate remote control or screen viewing. Additionally, other devices cannot remotely control or view their screens during this time.
Screen extension supports expanding to only one device at a time.
The Extended Screen and Mirror Screen features cannot be used simultaneously.
