Step 2. On the main interface of Remote Desktop Connection, switch from the General tab to the Local Resources tab, and in the Local Devices and Resources column, click More.

Step 4. Go back to the General tab. Enter the IP address and user name in the Remote Desktop Connection interface to achieve connection.

Step 1. Click This Computer on the host computer desktop, and find the previously checked disk.

Way 3. WiFi file transfer via File Sharing

In case both devices are connected via WiFi or are on the same network, another option is to leverage Nearby Sharing. It's crucial to note upfront that this approach exclusively functions with Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems.

Note: In the upcoming steps, Computer A refers to the computer sharing files, while Computer B is the recipient.

Step 1. Identify the folder you wish to share on Computer A. Right-click on it, opt for "Share with," and then choose "Specific people."

Step 2. From the drop-down menu, select individuals to share with and click on "Add." If you opt for "Everyone," it implies that the files will be available on your local network to anyone, even without a password.

Step 3. Click on the user you added to the list, configure the permissions, and then click "Share." Once you observe the message "Your folder is shared," proceed to click "Done."

Step 4. Keep Computer A running and go to Computer B. Find Computer B's name in the Network section, double-click to open it, and there you'll see the shared folder. Copy it wherever you need.
