Performance Beyond the FPS Headline
Smoothness comes from frame rates; true responsiveness comes from low latency. Compare how each tool performs under identical conditions.
| Performance Factor | ||
|---|---|---|
| Streaming Focus | Built for ultra-low latency interactive gaming and 3D work | Optimized for adaptive compression and stable video playback |
| Max Frame Rate | Delivers 60 to 144+ FPS natively across most sessions | Reaches up to 240 FPS on high-tier plans with eligible hardware |
| 4:4:4 Color Mode | Supported on paid tiers for Windows hosts only | Supported on the Performance tier with compatible endpoints |
| Hardware Need | Requires dedicated GPU hardware decoding on both ends | Operates smoothly on lower baseline hardware specs |
| Network Impact | Requires a high and stable upload bandwidth to prevent jitter | Tolerates network drops and lower bandwidth conditions better |
Insight:
Choose Parsec for minimum input lag in interactive 3D and gaming workflows. Choose Splashtop for smoother high-FPS video playback over variable network connections.

Poor
Works as advertised. Sure. But not being able to change install direction with the setup GUI is disgusting...my grandma's programs let you do that and they were sized less. 15 MB isn't much these days, but in some applications and situations, you still need to control where the myriad files go without having to move them yourself.
Impossible to use. Won't retain password, won't allow password reset via email. Absolute horrible user experience. None of the buttons actually go where they need to. Have to "authenticate" all the time but can't because it refuses to save an obscenely long password requirement. Won't show the password as you type. Won't send an account recovery email. Won't open.
Parsec is amazing! I have a fanless Zotac pico PC no bigger than a Raspberry Pi tucked away behind my TV. On this I can play AAA games streamed from my upstairs PC at 1080p/60fps easily. Total added lag for encode, network transfer and decode is less than 15ms.Anyone saying it doesn't work or is laggy need to take a look at the rest of their set up because the software works great.I get much better quality results at low latency than with Steam Remote Play and Moonlight/Gamestream and I am also not restricted to the games that support those platforms.
Imagine having a program that never worked, never works and fix after fix new random crazy nonsense problems... frankly the most embarassing software ive seen so far.

Great
I was a long time user of LogMeInRescue. But when the company ownership changed, the product started to fail and their tech support wasn't as helpful as they once were. I decided to look around and other techs recommended Splashtop. Not only is it faster to connect, it also allows me to remote into phones so I can remote help with my clients email/data synching with their Outlook. And the price is way better too. Highly recommend.
I moved to Splashtop from LogMeIn, 'years ago', after LogMeIn decided
to hike up their prices to ridiculous levels. Only Splashtop offered similar
features and have looked after me ever since, for a very fair price.
The product
just keeps getting better and I use it to support customers, family and
friends.
I would recommend it to anyone.
Our small business has been a Splashtop customer from very early on (when LogMeIn pricing went crazy). As long as it remains affordable and stable, we will be customers for life. Currently use the Splashtop Business and SOS features.
I am very happy with the support. As most of my problems had to do with errors on Apples part I have always received prompt replies when submitting support requests. I just love the product even though I only use it now days for personally to get access to my computers no matter where I am. Keep up the great work!
