Remote Desktop is a Windows built-in feature that allows us to get remote access if 2 PCs are within LAN or WiFi. Here are the concrete steps on using Remote Desktop to share screen on Windows 10.

✎Pay attention:
 If 2 PCs are not on the same LAN, you need to perform port forwarding.

Step 1. On your PC (the host PC), enable the Remote Desktop. Press Win + R, input "sysdm.cpl" and click the "Enter" key.

Step 2. Go to the Remote tab, and ensure that "Allow remote connections to this computer" is checked. And then click on “OK”.

Step 3. On the local PC, search "remote desktop connection" in the search box and double click to open it.

Step 4. Enter the IP address or PC name of the host PC and then click on “Connect”.

Quick Assist---Share screen with a built-in feature on Windows 10

Quick Assist is also a Windows built-in feature that enables a person to share their device with another person over a remote connection. It allows someone to remotely connect to a user’s device and then view its display. Therefore, we can use Quick Assist to get Windows Remote Desktop screen sharing.

✎Important: 2 PCs should be Windows 10 because Quick Assist is only available on Windows 10.

Step 1. On your friend’s PC, search “Quick Assist” in the search box and open it. Choose “Assist another person” under the “Give assistance”.

Step 2. Enter Microsoft account, click on “Next”. And then input the password and click on "Sign in". Then a security code will appear and it’s valid for 10 minutes.

Step 4. Choose "Full Control" or "View Screen", and then click "Continue". On the host PC, click on "Allow". Then you can share your screen.
