Solution 1. Update RDC’s security options

It is said that if the settings of RDP are wrong, then the connection of RDP will appear an error “ the remote computer cannot be authenticated”. For this reason, we can fix the issue by updating RDC’s security options.

Step 1. Search “Remote Desktop Connection” in the search box and then open it.


Step 2. Click the “Show Options” link in Remote Desktop Connection (RDC).

Step 3. Then locate the “Advanced” tab. In this tab, you will be able to see the Server Authentication part. Select "Warn me", then re-connect to the PC. The error will now allow you to bypass and connect anyway.

Solution 2. Add certificate

As we said before, the issue may occur if there is an incorrect certificate. Therefore, we can re-add the certificate to make sure the correction of Remote Desktop.

Step 1. On the client PC, press Win + R to open the dialog box. Type in “MMC” and then press the “Enter” key.


Step 2. Click File > Add/Remove snap-in.

Step 6. Return to the main interface and now you can expand Certificates. You can see Remote Desktop is listed in it.
